After the 2024 Paris Olympics, Gregoria’s BWF Rank Rises One

THE success of Indonesian women’s singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in winning a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics also affected her ranking in the BWF rankings.

Based on the latest update of the BWF rankings, the athlete from Wonogiri is ranked seventh, up one rank from his previous rank of eighth.

Gregoria’s position is flanked by two Chinese women’s singles, namely Wang Zhi Yi who is ranked 6th and Han Yue who is ranked 8th.

Meanwhile, An Se-young from South Korea, who is also a gold medalist at the Paris Olympics, is still firmly ranked number 1 in the world.

Second place is occupied by Chinese women’s singles Chen Yu Fei, who has not moved from second place.

Carolina Marin was in third place, followed by Tai Tzu Ying and Akane Yamaguchi in fourth and fifth place respectively.

  3. Carolina Marin (Spain) – 93,236 points
  4. Tai Tzu Ying (Taiwan) – 89,971 poin
  5. Akane Yamaguchi (Japan) – 85,057 points
  6. Wang Zhi Yi (Tiongkok) – 83,215 poin
  7. Gregoria Mariska Tunjung (Indonesia) – 77,662 points
  8. Han Yue (China) – 77,609 points
  9. Aya Ohori (Japan) – 69.667 points
  10. Beiwen Zhang (United States) – 64,506 points (Z-1)
