The goal of intergovernmental cooperation is to establish a Bitcoin embassy or representative office, where they would work together on projects that promote BTC adaptation.

Milena Mayorga, Ambassador of El Salvador to the United States, a On Twitter shared the news with the public on February 14 via

“During my meeting with Joe Esparza, Deputy Secretary General of the State of Texas, we discussed the creation of the world’s second Bitcoin Embassy and the expansion of trade and economic exchanges”Mayorga stated.

El Salvador opened its first foreign BTC embassy in October 2022 in the city of Lugano in southern Switzerland. Since then, the two crypto-friendly state administrations have been working shoulder-to-shoulder on the implementation of Bitcoin-related knowledge dissemination and research work.

According to Samson Mow, the former chief strategy officer of the blockchain technology company Blockstream, the phenomenon of the Bitcoin embassy might start the all-encompassing crypto-adaptation on a global scale.

By the way, this is not the only initiative to promote crypto assets in the state, as according to inside information, the Texas legislature is working on introducing a new regulation. The undisclosed goal of the proposal would be to make Texas the crypto capital of America. For this purpose, among other things, they plan to come up with the idea that payments with Bitcoin within the borders of the state would be tax-free.

As you know, the state is home to cryptomining companies such as Riot Blockchain, Core Scientific or Genesis Digital Assets. What’s more, Texas is home to the largest BTC miners in all of North America

The aspirations of Texas in the crypto sector are getting bigger and bigger, and it is possible that it will steal the title of the world’s Bitcoin center from El Salvador in the future.
