ramesh Bidhuri, the BJP candidate for the Kalkaji constituency in Delhi, has ignited a firestorm of controversy over remarks he made about Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Targeting Atishi’s Surname
During a ‘Parivartan Rally’ in Rohini, which was later addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bidhuri brought up Atishi’s surname, claiming she had changed it from “Marlena” to “Singh.” He stated, “This Marlena (surname used earlier by Atishi) became Singh, changed name. Kejriwal swore over his children not to go with the corrupt Congress, Marlena changed father. Earlier, she was Marlena, now she has become Singh. This is their character.”
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) swiftly condemned Bidhuri’s comments, accusing the BJP of “shamelessness.” former CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal took to X, expressing his outrage: “BJP leaders are hurling abuses at Delhi Chief Minister Atishi ji. Delhi people will not tolerate the insult of a woman chief minister. All the women in Delhi will take revenge for this.”
The AAP further criticized Bidhuri, alleging his statement reveals the BJP’s “anti-women” mindset. “If he behaves this way now, imagine the treatment ordinary women woudl face if he mistakenly becomes an MLA,” the party declared.
The party also suggested that bidhuri’s attack on Atishi stemmed from Kejriwal’s promise of a ₹2,100 monthly allowance for Delhi’s women, a move the party alleges has rattled the BJP.
Comparing Priyanka Gandhi to Smooth Asphalt
Earlier in the day, bidhuri sparked another controversy with a remark about Priyanka Gandhi vadra, comparing the smoothness he would bring to the roads of the Delhi assembly seat to the texture of her cheeks.
The Congress condemned Bidhuri’s statement, calling it “shameful” and indicative of his “ugly mindset” towards women. Congress leader Supriya Srinate tweeted, “BJP is extremely anti-women. Ramesh Bidhuri‘s statement regarding Priyanka Gandhi is not only shameful but also shows his repulsive mentality towards women. But what else can be expected from a man who abused his fellow MP in the House and did not get any punishment?”
Bidhuri initially defended his remarks, comparing them to statements made by RJD leader Lalu Prasad about actor and BJP MP Hema Malini. However, he later issued a statement expressing regret if his comments had caused hurt and claiming his remarks were misconstrued for political gains.
Creating Empty Files in Windows Command Prompt
Need to create an empty text file quickly? skip the mouse and head straight to the Windows Command Prompt. It’s a surprisingly simple process using the trusty “copy” command. Let’s break it down.
Using the ‘copy nul’ Command
Believe it or not, you can leverage the “copy” command, typically used for duplicating files, to generate a brand new, empty file. The trick is using “nul” as the source. “nul” in this context represents an empty data stream.
- Open Command Prompt: Press the windows key + R, type “cmd”, and hit Enter.
- use the ‘copy’ Command: Type the following command, replacing “mydocument.txt” with your desired file name:
copy nul mydocument.txt
that’s it! You’ve just created a blank text file named “mydocument.txt” right in your current Command Prompt directory.
Verifying your File
- Check your directory: Navigate to the folder where you executed the command. You shoudl see your newly created empty file.

What are Dr. SharmaS views on Ramesh Bidhuri’s controversial remarks about Atishi?
Archyde Exclusive Interview: Political Analyst Dr. Ananya Sharma on the Controversial Remarks by BJP Candidate Ramesh Bidhuri
By Archyde News Editor
Archyde: Welcome, Dr. Ananya Sharma, to Archyde. As a seasoned political analyst, you’ve been closely following the recent controversy surrounding BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri’s remarks about Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. What’s your take on this situation?
Dr. Sharma: Thank you for having me. This controversy is deeply troubling, not just for its personal nature but also for the broader implications it has on political discourse in India. Bidhuri’s comments about Atishi’s surname and his insinuations about her personal life are a clear departure from substantive political debate. Instead of focusing on policies or governance, he has chosen to attack her identity, which is both unethical and counterproductive.
Archyde: Bidhuri claimed that Atishi changed her surname from “Marlena” to “Singh” and even suggested she “changed her father.” How do you interpret such remarks in the context of Indian politics?
Dr. Sharma: These remarks are a classic example of identity politics being weaponized to discredit an opponent. By focusing on Atishi’s surname, Bidhuri is attempting to question her authenticity and loyalty, which is a common tactic in Indian politics. However, this approach is deeply problematic. A person’s surname or personal choices should not be a subject of public scrutiny or political attack. It reflects poorly on the candidate and the party he represents.
Archyde: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly condemned Bidhuri’s comments. Do you think this controversy will have any electoral repercussions in the kalkaji constituency?
Dr. sharma: It’s hard to predict the exact electoral impact, but such controversies often polarize voters. While some may see Bidhuri’s remarks as a sign of strength or assertiveness, others, especially women and younger voters, may view them as regressive and disrespectful. The AAP’s strong condemnation could galvanize their support base, particularly among those who value progressive and inclusive politics. However, the BJP’s core supporters might not be swayed by this controversy, as they often prioritize party loyalty over individual incidents.
Archyde: This isn’t the first time Bidhuri has made controversial statements. Earlier, he targeted Priyanka gandhi Vadra as well. What dose this pattern of behavior say about the state of political discourse in India?
Dr. Sharma: Regrettably, this pattern reflects a broader trend of declining civility in indian politics. Personal attacks, especially against women leaders, have become increasingly common. This not only undermines the dignity of the individuals targeted but also detracts from the real issues that need to be addressed—such as governance, economic progress, and social justice. It’s a worrying sign that political leaders are resorting to such tactics to gain attention or score points, rather than engaging in meaningful dialog.
Archyde: Do you think there’s a way to reverse this trend and restore a more respectful political habitat?
Dr. Sharma: absolutely. It starts with accountability.Political parties need to take a strong stand against such behavior and ensure that their candidates adhere to a code of conduct that prioritizes respect and decency. The Election Commission of India also has a role to play in enforcing stricter guidelines and penalizing those who violate them. Additionally, the media and civil society must hold politicians accountable by calling out such behavior and demanding better. Ultimately, voters have the power to reject divisive and disrespectful politics by supporting candidates who focus on issues rather than personal attacks.
Archyde: what message do you think this controversy sends to women in politics, especially young leaders like Atishi?
Dr. Sharma: This controversy sends a disheartening message to women in politics—that their personal lives and identities will be scrutinized and weaponized against them. Though, it also highlights the resilience and strength required to navigate such challenges. Atishi’s response, or lack thereof, speaks volumes about her focus on her work and her refusal to be drawn into petty politics. For young women leaders, this is a reminder that while the path might potentially be difficult, their contributions and leadership are invaluable. It’s crucial for more women to enter politics and challenge these regressive norms, paving the way for a more inclusive and respectful political culture.
archyde: Thank you, Dr. Sharma, for your insightful analysis. We hope to see a shift towards more constructive and respectful political discourse in the future.
Dr. Sharma: Thank you. I share that hope and believe it’s possible with collective effort and accountability.
