About a year following the ultra-light Urtopia Carbon One bike, the manufacturer is launching its second model of electric bike that unlocks with your fingerprint. The new Urtopia Chord combines art and technology.
Urtopia is one of the leaders in the connected electric bike market. While its very first model won over many cyclists thanks to its unique design, the brand is back with a new connected model, called Urtopia Chord. Sold at only 2299 euros, it is one of the most accessible pedelec models on the market.
An electric bike with fingerprint sensor
Let’s start with what characterizes the Urtopia Chord: connected LED screen. Mounted in the center of the handlebars, it has a fingerprint sensor. This unlocks the e-bike and protects it once morest attempted theft.
Also, this panel allows you to play and control music via Bluetooth. OTA updates can also be performed from this screen. While the Urtopia Chord can be voice controlled. The manufacturer has also installed a GPS anti-theft device. The e-bike also has a module Integrated eSIM.
Mudguards and a kickstand are also pre-installed at the factory or included in delivery. At the front, the manufacturer installed a StVZO-compliant headlight with 20 lux. This beacon brilliantly lights the way forward.
Another security feature is called d’ARES. The latter combines a bright red tail light with a pair of projection lights. These can practically act as turn signals to indicate changes of direction. Additional settings are available via the free Urtopia app, available for download on iOS and Android.
Chord Urtopia: a connected and efficient bike on the road
The manufacturer says it was inspired by the piano for the design, which can be seen in particular in the black and white paint. This eBike is suitable for sizes ranging from 170cm to 195cm.
This electric bike incorporates a fingerprint scanner to protect once morest theft. It also relies on a minimalist and refined design.
The result is a modern electric city bike with a built-in battery on the down tube. This can be easily removed. In Eco mode, it achieves a autonomy of 120 kilometers. In the fastest mode, Sport mode, it can travel up to 50 kilometers. And this with maximum pedaling assistance. The battery has a quick charge mode, thanks to which it can be fully charged in just three hours.
Without forgetting that this connected electric bike is driven by a 250 watt rear wheel motor. The latter provides a torque of 45Nm and allows pedaling assistance up to a maximum of 25 km/h. It is also equipped with a torque sensor, an 8-speed gearbox from Shimano and hydraulic disc brakes from Tektro.
