The protest once morest the additional taxes imposed in the federal budget is getting prolonged. The petrol pump owners refused but now flour mills owners have announced to stop supply of flour from July 11, while travel agents have also threatened to strike.

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Chairman Flour Accused Association Asim Raza Kane said that we demand the federal government to abolish the withholding tax, five and a half percent tax has been imposed, flour mill owners want to close the flour mills immediately.

It should be noted that in order to supply cheap flour, Punjab Food Department has suspended the licenses of three flour mills for selling expensive flour, while it has issued show-cause notices to twenty-two flour points for poor arrangements.

Punjab Food Minister, Bilal Yasin has said that action will be taken on bogus records and supply of flour at high prices, licenses of dealers and mills supplying at high prices will be suspended, market rates are being monitored on a daily basis.
