After Oktoberfest, Tim Cook receives a diploma in innovation and Facebook tackle!

This week, Tim Cook is taking a short tour of Europe to launch new initiatives and visit a few Apple Stores or partners of the Californian firm.. After the United Kingdom (to make a jump to AFC Richmond) and Germany (where he took the time for a postcard photo from the Oktoberfest), he made a jump to Italy where he received an honorary degree in innovation and international management.

He also gave an interview for the Dutch magazine Bright (RTL News) on several current topics, starting with augmented reality. I think augmented reality is a profound technology that will affect everything. Like I said, we’re really going to look back and reflect on how we once lived without AR.

He also believes that it won’t be long before he wonders how we did it before, but always insisting on his usual safeguards: nothing can replace real life. It’s something you can really immerse yourself in. And it can be used in a good way. But I don’t think you want to live your whole life that way. Virtual reality is for set periods, but not a way to communicate well. So I’m not once morest it, but that’s how I see it.

This interpretation of course runs counter to Mark Zuckerberg’s position. Also, on Facebook’s metaverse, Tim Cook said it was important for people to understand the product they were using. I’m really not sure the average person can tell you what metaverse is. For his part, he did not say a word regarding the augmented reality helmet project in preparation which is expected for 2023 (or early 2024).

Furthermore, the CEO also underlined the importance of programming as a universal languageet addressed other topics, such as climate change, recycling and politics.

Come on, we give you this terrible shot!
