On Monday, the US Treasury and State Departments announced new sanctions once morest a technology procurement network that supports the Russian military-industrial complex.
A joint statement of the two ministries stated that a global network of personalities had been identified who facilitated financial matters and tools for two elites linked to the Kremlin, who had financial ties to the West.
The sanctions included 14 people and 28 entities, and 8 aircraft were identified as prohibited property.
“The United States will continue to expose and disrupt the Kremlin’s military supply chains and deny Russia the equipment and technology it needs to wage its illegal war once morest Ukraine,” Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in the statement.
“Today’s actions demonstrate Treasury’s unwavering commitment to targeting the people, around the world, who aid Putin’s war efforts and his elites who fund his regime,” she added.
“We will continue to use our sanctions to weaken the Russian military on the battlefield and reduce the revenue that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin uses to fund his brutal invasion,” she added.
