For some time now, the great classics of the world of Japanese animation have had the right to sequels like Bleach or Hunter x Hunter… Today, we learn that another saga is going to enjoy a second life… and it is that of Gō Nagai, just that.

“It crosses the whole universe, as fast as light”

It’s been more than forty years now that the Grendizer series came to flood our screens through Club Dorothée to present mecha fights in space. And following a total of 74 episodes first aired between 1975 and 1977, the cult anime is coming back to life.

It is Gō Nagai, the founder of the Dynamic Planning studio and the famous mangaka behind the Grendizer TV series, who announces the good news in person: following 48 years of absence, the Grendizer saga will make a comeback with a sequel. Indeed, the designer has just revealed that he worked for many years on a mysterious production called “Project G”. Of course, the latter is none other than the sequel to Grendizer. This proposal is expected for next year, which means that all this will happen quickly.

Even if this sequel is still very mysterious, Gō Nagai already offers us some sketches to watch in the trailer above.

A game also in preparation

If the Grendizer universe is dear to you, know that a video game from the license is also in preparation on the side of Microids (Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All!). This production, also mysterious, “will offer players nostalgic for the license to live the famous adventures of Actarus and his combat robot Goldorak”, with a story “where courage, fights and betrayals rage”.

The ability to play the adventures of Actarus and his famous robot Goldorak (Grendizer) with today’s technologies is a dream come true. I am very happy with this publishing agreement reached with Microids and I can’t wait to get my hands on this video game. Go Nagai, creator of Goldorak.
