A Moroccan girl came under fire for teasing Cristiano Ronaldo as Portugal lost to Morocco at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The mother of a 9-year-old girl of Moroccan nationality, Miss A, posted a video on social media on the 17th apologizing to Ronaldo fans around the world.

The reason A and her mother apologized came from the quarterfinal match between Morocco and Portugal on the 11th. At that time, Morocco defeated Portugal 1-0 and became the first African nation to advance to the semifinals of the World Cup. Ronaldo burst into tears as he left the stadium.

Morocco was truly festive, and the citizens mocked Ronaldo immediately following the game, saying, “Where is Ronaldo?”, “Morocco is here, Portugal went to the airport”, “Ronaldo is at the airport”.

Miss A also excitedly said, “Portugal, the airport is over there. Where is Ronaldo? He is crying in the car right now. Poor Ronaldo.”

As the video went viral, Ronaldo fans were outraged. Some visited Ms. A’s mother’s SNS and poured out unspeakable malicious comments such as “an abortion advertisement that talks while walking”, “a Ronaldo car is more expensive than your family’s property”, and “the need for condoms”.

In the end, Miss A’s mother appealed for the criticism to stop, saying, “Now my daughter is in a very difficult state psychologically, to the extent that she cannot eat or speak because of the comments.”

“My daughter doesn’t know anything regarding football and just repeats what she heard around her. I’m sure she didn’t mean to insult Ronaldo.”

He confessed, “My daughter is still young and is only 9 years old now. I just wanted to express my joy, but unfortunately, I fell victim to social media.”

Finally, he asked for forgiveness, saying, “I apologize to all Ronaldo fans for this incident,” and “My daughter did not take what she said seriously, so please treat her like her own sister.”
