Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – English club Tottenham Hotspur decided to dismiss the coach of the Italian team, Antonio Conte, as announced by “Spurs” in a statement on its official website, on Monday night.

And the club’s statement, which is active in the (Premier League) competition, said: “We can announce coach Antonio Conte’s departure from the club by mutual agreement. We qualified for the Champions League in Antonio’s first season at the club. We thank him for his contribution and wish him success in the future.”

“Christian Stellini will take over the team as acting head coach for the remainder of the season, along with Ryan Mason as assistant coach,” the statement added.

The club’s chairman, Daniel Levy, told Tottenham Hotspur: “We have 10 games left in the Premier League and we are fighting for a place in the Champions League. And the amazed.”

Recently, the 53-year-old Italian coach criticized the team’s players, describing them as “selfish” and “not helping each other.”

Spurs are in fourth place on the Premier League rankings this season, with 49 points, 20 points behind leaders Arsenal.
