After having 102 children, he decides not to have any more

A 67-year-old farmer from Uganda, Africa, has decided to end his family’s expansion, following raising some 102 children in the past few years, reports the Daily Mail.

Musa Hasahya, this resident of Uganda, where polygamy is legal, has officially asked his 12 wives to use contraception in order to stop having children.

He says he is no longer able to meet his family’s needs due to the rising cost of living.

“My income has been falling for a few years due to the rising cost of living, and during this time my family has continued to grow,” he said.

The Ugandan’s children are aged between 6 and 51, and almost a third of them still live with him. In total, he has nearly 568 grandchildren.

However, he has advice for those who wish to start a large family and have several companions.

“I want to discourage people who want to have more than four wives, because things (the financial situation) are not going very well,” he admits.

One of his twelve wives interviewed by the Daily Mail doesn’t seem to be irritated by her husband’s decision.

“I won’t have any more children. I saw my husband’s financial situation, so I take the birth control pill,” she said.

Polygamy is legal in 58 countries, with the majority in countries with large Muslim majorities.

Uganda’s inflation rate hit 6.8% in June 2022, according to a government source.

By comparison, nearby Sudan has recorded rates exceeding 100% in recent months.
