Aprilia RACER Maverick Vinlaes said he was even more motivated following his achievements at the Americas GP last weekend, when he took pole position, as well as winning the Sprint Race and the main race.
Not only did he record three wins in three race sessions, Vinales also set a record for the fastest lap at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, and became the first MotoGP racer to win the main race at that circuit with three different manufacturers.
“This is a historic achievement and I want to thank everyone who has given me their strength because there were times when I wanted to give up, but I always had enough support to keep believing and keep getting up every time,” said Vinales. , quoted from the official MotoGP website, Friday (19/4).
“There are many sacrifices, many nights with long thoughts, motivation to give everything and risk everything,” he said.
The Spanish racer then recalled the moment in 2021, when the contract between him and Yamaha ended at the Red Bull Ring, Austria. This very sudden thing also gave rise to speculation that Vinales’ career in the premier racing class was also over.
“Now, looking back at the time when I didn’t know what to do, you can’t give up. In Austria, I didn’t know what to do,” said Vinales.

His series of wins at COTA also resulted in more than 25 points so he is competing in the drivers’ standings this season.
“I can’t say anything. There are many difficult things to go through. My family knows it, all the efforts I put in finally paid off, so I’m very happy,” said Vinales.
“This (victory at the American GP) taught me one thing, that we must not give up. We must believe in ourselves and continue to develop,” he concluded. (Ant/Z-1)
