So far, competing in front of their home crowd has brought luck to the French athletes. Since the official start of the competition on July 26, the Blues have collected 26 medals of all metals, which allows them to occupy second place in the famous medal table on Wednesday, July 31. In detail, the Blues have collected eight gold medals, 10 silver medals and eight bronze medals.

For a few minutes, France was even first in this table: Léon Marchand’s third gold medal in the 200m butterfly, his second of the evening, propelled it into the lead, ahead of China.
