After extra time: HCP wrestles down Ingolstadt – ICEHL

HC Pustertal celebrated a prestigious victory on Friday evening at the start of the Vinschgau Cup in Latsch once morest ERC Ingolstadt.

After a hard-fought match, the wolves defeated the German champions from 2014 4:3 and thus successfully started the 6th Vinschgau Cup, which will be held once more this summer in the Laces IceForum.

HC Pustertal, who came into the game as an outsider once morest the DEL participants, presented themselves in a strong condition. In the third third, the numerous spectators in the Latscher IceForum were once more treated to a varied game. In the early stages of the final third, Ingolstadt scored the 3:3 through Charles Bertrand (42.41). It stayed that way, which went into overtime. Here the Wolves struck once more following only 2.04 minutes of play: Raphael Andergassen scored the much acclaimed winner with his second goal of the day.

“We are hardly known internationally. It’s through performances like this that we can make a name for ourselves. That was a good performance once morest an opponent who has a much higher budget than us,” HCP spokesman Patrick “Patza” Kirchler said happily SportNews.

The Vinschgau Cup continues on Saturday: HCB Südtirol is then challenged once morest the Nürnberg IceTigers. The game starts at 6 p.m. in the Latscher Stadium. On Sunday, the HCP and Nuremberg (2 p.m.) as well as HC Bozen and “host” Ingolstadt (6 p.m.) will compete. The Germans have been in Latsch since the beginning of the week, where they are doing their training camp. Traditionally, at the end of the training camp, they organize the Vinschgau Cup in cooperation with the Latsch-Martell tourism association.
