Already accused for the serious road accident he caused under the influence of cocaine, the French humorist Pierre Palmade is now targeted by an investigation for possession of child pornography images, which further darkens his judicial horizon.

This investigation was opened on Saturday following a report made to the police, the author of which must still be heard by investigators, the Paris prosecutor’s office said on Sunday.

Contacted by AFP, the comedian’s lawyer, Me Céline Lasek, did not wish to speak.

According to the BFMTV television channel, a man “contacted the police to indicate that he had in his possession videos and audios showing that Pierre Palmade had child pornography images”. The investigators will therefore audition him to “verify the veracity of his accusations”, specified BFMTV.

Pierre Palmade has unleashed a legal and media storm since the car he was driving, following consuming cocaine and synthetic drugs, collided on February 10 with a vehicle arriving opposite, regarding fifty kilometers south of Paris .

The collision left three seriously injured members of the same family: a man, his 6-year-old son and his six-and-a-half-month pregnant sister-in-law, who lost her baby.

Presented to a judge on Friday, the 54-year-old comedian, struggling for years with heavy addiction problems, was accused in particular of homicide and involuntary injuries.

The actor escaped, at least temporarily, from prison, seeing himself assigned to the addiction service of a hospital under an electronic bracelet.

The Melun prosecution, which had requested his placement in pre-trial detention, appealed on this point.

The two passengers present in his car at the time of the accident, a 33-year-old Moroccan and a 34-year-old Frenchman, were placed under the status of assisted witness for failure to assist a person in danger. They had left the scene shortly following the accident.

If Pierre Palmade has not spoken publicly since the start of the affair, his sister reported earlier this week the comedian’s “shame” at “the horror of what happened, of what ‘he caused’.

Pierre Palmade was sentenced in 1995 for cocaine consumption. In 2019, he was taken into custody for use and acquisition of narcotics following being falsely accused of rape.
