After Boric’s publication: Chayanne asks “not to misuse his name and image” and warns that it could bring “legal consequences”

The Puerto Rican singer, Chayanne He referred this Thursday to the use and dissemination of his images in the framework of the campaign for the plebiscite for a new Constitution on September 4.

Through a statement published on their social networks, the famous interpreter asked not to use his image and warned of possible “legal consequences”.

The statements come a day following it was revealed that President Gabriel Boric had shared a Chayanne meme alluding to Approval on his Instagram account. In the image you can see a photo of the artist next to the slogan: How to convince your family to vote Approve?. The image was briefly up on the network, to later be deleted.

From La Moneda they indicated that it was a team error, which was quickly warned and then lowered.

It was in this scenario that during the followingnoon of this Thursday the statement was made public on Chayanne’s networks.

“The artist Chayanne never gets involved in political issues. He never supports political campaigns of any kind. Political issues are only the concern of the citizens of each country. Consequently, We ask the people or entities that are making improper use of their name and image, to refrain from doing so, since they are incurring an action that might bring legal consequences.”was indicated in the statement.

As explained by the Puerto Rican, through his production company Chaf Enterprise Inc., he received multiple alerts regarding the use of his image on social networks in the framework of the plebiscite campaign.

“The best link we have with Chile is Chayanne’s long artistic career, mutual respect and affection that we hope will continue to be maintained in the same way”he concluded.

It is not the first time that the figure of the famous Chayanne has been used to campaign in the constituent process. When the entry plebiscite was held, edited images began to circulate through social networks where the singer was seen “calling” to vote for the new Constitution and the Constitutional Convention.

In fact, an account called @chayanne_constituente was created on Instagram where pictures or memes of the musician with themes alluding to the process were shared.
