The 16-story glass “skyscraper” on Geležinios Vilkas street, also called “pencil”, was built by “Hanner” in 2001. It was the first skyscraper in Vilnius.
A. Avulis revealed the plans for this legendary structure.
“Actually, that building has been in operation since 2001. It’s been 23 years already – it needs to be made modern”, – 15min said businessman A. Avulis. It is planned to demolish it and build a lower building in its place.

Visualizations of the new possible building were also made public – this is how this part of the city would change after the “pencil” is demolished and new construction is completed in its place.
The new building, like the old one, was designed by Audriaus Ambras architects’ office.
As before 15min said A. Avulis, a conceptual option has been prepared for how the place where the “pencil” is currently standing will change.
“We are at a very early stage. According to the concept we have now prepared, the “pencil” should be completely demolished, then a new building with an underground parking lot is built – such as many modern buildings are”, revealed A. Avulis.
When asked how tall the new building would be, the businessman said that it would probably be five stories.
“We will blend in with the environment, on one side – the Teltonika building, on the other – the Danske bank.” They are low-rise buildings, so the new building would be similar in size. But there is a long process ahead, because we only have a concept. We have to change the detailed plan as well, because one indicator does not match – there are too many procedures”, added A. Avulis.
This will not be the first business center in the capital, whose owners are thinking about transformation.
As reported by the portal vz.ltit has already been confirmed that the real estate development company “Darnu Group” promises to undertake the conversion of the 3-hectare area between A. Goštautos and Geležinis Vilkas streets, and a new building should also be built instead of business centers “Verslo trikampis”.

The company in 2022 organized an architectural competition, and in 2023 continued the design process of this large block.
The mentioned company 15min confirmed that a detailed plan of the territory is currently being prepared.
