While journalist Mustafa Bakri appealed to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to issue a decision to transfer Fawzy to an army hospital to continue his treatment, stressing on his Twitter page that he is a great journalist who has spent his life serving his country and the profession of journalism and media.
It is noteworthy that Fawzi had gone through a major psychological crisis in the recent period following the death of two of his closest friends, the artist Samir Sabry, And journalist writer Salah Montaser.

Mufid Fawzy is a famous media figure in Egypt and the Arab world, and he was born on June 19, 1933 in Beni Suef Governorate, southern Egypt.
He graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, Department of English in 1959, and has worked in journalism since that date, then moved to television work.
Later, he married the late broadcaster, Amal Al-Omda, and gave birth to his daughter, journalist and writer, Hanan Mufid Fawzi.
During his career, he interviewed many celebrities in the fields of politics, art and literature, and the first television interview he conducted in front of the screen was with the late writer Naguib Mahfouz.
He also participated in two cinematic films under his name and his real personality as a journalist and interviewer, namely “Hadith Al-Madina” produced by Magda Al-Sabahi, and “His Excellency the Minister” with the artist Ahmed Zaki.
