From 50 kilos, anyone can go to this farm by appointment to have their apples pressed. Martine Lebrun, the manager of Verger de Chise, sees green and very ripe ones as her phone keeps ringing.
“For 100 kilos, you have regarding 60 liters of juice. This represents an average of 60% extraction, she explains to us. But this extraction can be different depending on the type of apple. If you have an old variety such as a Court-Pendu or a Jonagold, it will be different. On the other hand, it will always be pure juice. There is only fruit. “
Three days following dropping off her apples, Martine Dimanche comes to pick up her bottles that contain her subtle elixir: “I have just tasted it and it is really very good. I had brought back around 80 kilos, and I am leaving with 52 litres. I am very happy and my grandchildren will be even happier. They love this apple juice that comes from my garden.”
Whether they are yellow, green, red, pink, or multicolored, apples have offered individuals kilos and liters of sweet delights this year.
