Al-Marsad newspaper: The Egyptian artist, Jamila Aziz, revealed the reason for wearing the hijab, the secret of her absence from acting for 4 years, and the truth regarding her retirement from acting.
She explained that the reason for her absence from acting was due to her exposure to a severe health illness, noting that she pledged to God during her illness to veil, according to “Cairo 24.”
She added: I went to read the Qur’an, hadiths, and interpretations, and sat with sheikhs who introduced me to religion, and my outlook on life changed in everything.
She continued: My life was completely different following wearing the hijab, and I felt a sense of self-satisfaction and contentment, and I continued to be ashamed if part of me seemed to show, and I remained in a state of eclipse and modesty.
She pointed out that her friends in the artistic community abandoned her, saying: I have a friend in the artistic community. I told her that I was tired and her mother told me that we will visit you and we will not leave you, and she did not come or visit me or even ask on the phone.
She indicated that she was afraid of death and that tears were falling from her without realizing it. The artist considered that the period of illness that she was exposed to was an atonement for sins and that God wanted to hear her voice as she prayed, stressing that she did not retire from art.
She said regarding art: “Art is a beautiful and respectable message from ancient times, and she waits for a turn with her hijab,” noting that she received offers of artistic works but without a hijab and rejected them, because she now has a love for God that is stronger than anything in the world.
