After Activision / Blizzard and Bungie, Jeff Grubb teases a next big buyout | Xbox One

There are a lot of changes in the world of video games at the start of the year. After the announcement of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft two weeks ago, it was Sony who announced the acquisition of Bungie this week, the studio behind the Halo and Destiny franchises.

This news fuels many debates and it seems that we are only at the beginning of our surprises for this year.

Towards a major new acquisition?

According to the usually very knowledgeable Jeff Grubb, another major takeover is on the horizon. In the last episode of the show broadcast on its YouTube channel, Jeff Grubb and Mike Minotti discussed recent acquisitions, and particularly that of Sony which has just offered Bungie.

When asked if he has any idea which studio could be next on the list, Jeff Grubb begins by stating that he has heard things he cannot talk about. That it’s a “big buyout” and that recent events suggest anything is possible.

Ni Take-Two, ni Hazelight… mais Capcom ?

He then uses the expression “It Takes Two To Tango” to illustrate his point, but this should not be seen as a teaser concerning Take-Two or the Hazelight studio as he specified in a tweet.

Internet users have found that one of the successes of Resident Evil 5 was called “It Takes Two To Tango” and are now speculating on a takeover by Capcom. We know that Jeff Grubb is generally well informed of the actions of Microsoft, but we still do not know if it is this time the American company.

We will not know more from Jeff Grubb who will not give more information except that the environment is more than ever conducive to acquisitions and that a certain frenzy will reign until the end of ‘year.
