The Tié-Tié Massola market was demolished on May 28, 2015 and then relocated to a new site pending the construction of a future market. Many sellers, accustomed to this site, expect to see the new market emerge in its new version every day. While the work started in October 2020, currently nothing is moving or hardly; the cranes no longer turn and the site has become deserted. The work was halted just a few months following the construction of the reinforced concrete beam posts. Traders even got a taste of what the new market will look like when the mockup is displayed. Unfortunately, their faces, which were barely beginning to smile once more, were immediately tense the day following the work was stopped. Note that the Tié-Tié Massola market is among the best known in the ocean city. It owes its reputation to the sale of second-hand clothes, “Massola” in the local language.
