After a knife attack in Vorarlberg – the suspect turned himself in

The 15-year-old suspect, who had fled since a knife attack at Dornbirn train station on Sunday, turned himself in to the police late Tuesday followingnoon. The executive made the announcement on Wednesday. The youth appeared with a lawyer at the State Criminal Police Office and was taken into custody. His hearing is scheduled for today, Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, the decision should be made whether the other two suspects remain in custody or not.

On Sunday around 6:00 p.m., a dispute broke out between a 32-year-old from Iraq and three 15-year-olds on the forecourt of Dornbirn train station. The man was stabbed in the back several times with a knife. The adolescents fled, two of them were caught on Sunday as part of a search, and there was no trace of the third youth for the time being. The two arrested 15-year-olds were taken to the Feldkirch prison following being questioned. A magistrate will decide on the further whereregardings of the two youths on Wednesday.

The injuries inflicted by the stab wounds on the 32-year-old were life-threatening, but the man is in stable condition following emergency surgery. However, he is not yet ready for interrogation. It is also unknown what triggered the dispute.
