But 2024 has its share of surprises in store for Stéphanie and Matthieu, the owners. At the beginning of January, the teacher’s phone rings. “We found your cat, he is in Savoie” or 850 kilometers from the family home! “I thought it was a joke then they sent me photos and videos, it was really Choupette… We thought she had died,” explains Matthieu to our colleagues at France Blue.
As luck would have it, it was the uncle of a neighbor who had gone skiing in the Alps who brought the little feline back to his family on January 21. “She recognized us straight away,” the owner is moved.
The couple have two children. The eldest, Soline, aged 9, does not remember Choupette since she was too young when she disappeared and Florine, the youngest, 21 months old, meets her first pet for the first time.
