SUMMARY
Dominik Szoboszlai was in Liverpool’s starting team in the FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester United. The clash between the two teams is an outstanding event in all of Europe, Erik ten Hag and Jürgen Klopp sent almost their strongest team to the field at Old Trafford. Manchester United and Liverpool clashed for the 15th time in the FA Cup, until Sunday’s match, Manchester United had advanced ten times, Liverpool four times.
The home team had a great start, in the first twenty minutes there were several dangerous situations one after the other. In one of these, Garnacho’s shot was saved by Kelleher, but the rebound Scott McTominay he shot it into the goal from close range (1–0). Liverpool converted in four minutes before the end of the half. Before Mac Allister hit the left side of the goal, then in overtime Mohamed Szalah cut in the rebound after Núnez’s shot. 1–2
The second half brought less excitement. In the 72nd minute, Harvey Elliott replaced Dominik Szoboszlai, the Hungarian footballer played well, was active, scored four shots and passed with ninety-two percent accuracy. The dramatic endgame was not left behind, Antony in the 87th minute he turned on the goal and curled it into the bottom left corner. 2–2
Extra time could come, the first 15 minutes of which were uneventful, then out of nowhere Harvey Elliott he tried from distance, his shot bounced off Christian Eriksen’s leg – Onana was helpless, Liverpool were ahead again. However, Manchester United equalized for the second time: Marcus Rashford scored in the 112th minute. 3–3
When everyone was waiting for the penalties or Liverpool’s goal coming almost on schedule, another twist came. Substitute after an away corner Amad Diallo he scored a ball with which Garnacho dribbled forward for sixty meters, passed it to Diallo, who drifted quite a bit and fired into the bottom left corner in the 121st minute. The Ivorian player received his second yellow in the middle of the celebration, so he was no longer on the field in the last seconds, but the result did not change. Manchester United in a crazy game after extra time 4–3-ra defeated Liverpool and made it to the top four teams in the FA Cup.
