At the end of December, Marco Schwarz tore his cruciate ligament in his knee. Immediately following the operation, the Carinthian worked hard on his comeback, as he now shows in a video on Instagram (see below).
“After 6 intensive weeks in rehab, it’s time to give away the crutches,” comments the 28-year-old in the excerpts in which he demonstratively throws his walking aids aside at the end.
Like Austria’s soccer star David Alaba, Schwarz was operated on by knee specialist Christian Fink in Hochrum. Of course, the road back on skis and into the World Cup is still a long one. The rule of thumb for cruciate ligament tears is a mandatory break of at least 6 months.
