According to Chinese media reports, the whole incident happened in 2017. On March 30, 2017, Su Xiangmao and Zhai Xinxin met on a dating website. After the incident, Su Xiangmao’s brother discovered that Su Xiangmao had spent more than 13 million yuan on Zhai Xinxin in less than 6 months of acquaintance with Zhai Xinxin. In the end, Su Xiangmao’s brother filed a civil lawsuit against Zhai Xinxin, demanding that Zhai Xinxin return the cash and cars given by Su Xiangmao during his lifetime, totaling 10 million yuan.
And Zhai Xinxin argued in court that he did not defraud or abuse Su Xiangmao, all the property transfers were voluntary by Su Xiangmao, and Su Xiangmao’s suicide had nothing to do with it, but he had legal rights to Su Xiangmao’s property.
Since Su Xiangmao and Zhai Xinxin registered their marriage on June 7, 2017 and divorced on July 18, the court determined that this was a “flash marriage and divorce”. Xinxin’s high amount of property and money, and Zhai Xinxin’s coercion of Su Xiangmao in order to obtain high compensation during the divorce agreement and after the divorce are illegal, and it is one of the reasons that led to Su Xiangmao’s suicide.
