The Corona virus “Omicron” is spreading rapidly in many countries, and even if it causes a mild illness, this does not mean that it is underestimated.
In this context, we show you what a person with the Omicron mutant feels 72 hours following the virus entered his body, according to Dr. Magdy Badran, a member of the Egyptian Society for Allergy and Immunology.
“Omicron infection is closer to a cold, less than influenza, but it spreads quickly within the family and work within 2-3 days,” Badran says.
He adds: “The period of infection ranges from one to two days before symptoms appear, and two to three days following their appearance. Sore throats are the first characteristic symptom of Omicron.”
Omicron’s effect on the throat
A body of evidence has also revealed that omicron affects the throat more often than the lungs, which scientists believe may explain why it appears to be more contagious but less lethal than other mutant ones.
The first symptom he feels is an Omicron patient
Doctors in Norway, South Africa, and the United Kingdom have determined that Omicron patients report soreness in their throats, so it is the first characteristic symptom of Omicron.
Ryan Nawash, chief executive of Discovery Health, South Africa’s largest private health insurer, said O’Micron patients typically report sore throat first, followed by nasal congestion, dry cough and body aches.
And regarding the symptoms that appear in the patient 48 following infection with Omicron, Badran reveals:
1- Runny nose.
2- Dry cough.
3- headache
4- Sneezing.
5- Fatigue.
Badran states that the symptoms of Omicron infection so far are mild and include:
1- Fatigue for a day or two.
2- General fatigue.
3- Muscle pain.
4- Feeling uncomfortable
5- Light coughing in some cases.
6- Itchy throat.
7- A hoarse voice.
The less common symptoms are:
Toes and hands.
Eye redness.
Loss of the sense of taste or smell in lower proportions than previous breeds.
Serious symptoms of so far uncommon omicron infection:
1- Difficulty or shortness of breath.
2- Difficulty speaking.
3- Difficulty moving.
4- Lack of focus
5- Chest pain.
A doctor reveals symptoms in the first 72 hours
An Indian doctor described the symptoms of the disease accurately, following it was confirmed that he was infected with the new mutant of the Corona virus known as “Omicron”.
The 46-year-old doctor was one of several people in India who were diagnosed with the new mutation by the health authorities, and said that the symptoms he felt include body pain, chills and a dizzy spell, and his temperature rose to 38.5 following 3 days of the positive test result.
He noted that he had no breathing difficulties, and his blood oxygen levels were normal at around 95.
