The Arab and North African teams succeeded in winning the matches of the first round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The Arab teams achieved the full mark and all their matches ended in well-deserved victories.

The Pharaohs team began its first match in the first group by sweeping the Djibouti team 6-0 on the night when Mohamed Salah, the star of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool, scored a Super Hat-trick for the first time in its history, and many players appeared optimally and performed the tasks required of them throughout the field.

In the seventh group, the Algerian team, the Desert Lions, achieved victory over the Somali team with a score of 3-1 and topped the group on goal difference over its opponents.

In the fourth group, the brotherly Libyan national team succeeded in defeating the Eswatini national team with an unanswered goal and shares the lead with the Cameroon national team by goal difference.

In the eighth group, the Tunisian team achieved a 4-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe, topping the group on goal difference over its opponents.

It is worth noting that the Moroccan team did not play its match in the first round of Group Five, as the Eritrea team apologized for participating in the qualifiers and was excluded from the group. The group will witness the participation of only 5 teams instead of 6 teams.

The winner of each qualifying group will qualify following the end of the rounds, and the four best second-placed teams will be selected, with the four teams going into the playoff stage to choose a team from them that will participate in the continental playoff.
