The African fans announce the challenge and come to save their club from its financial crisis
The Tunisian African fans hit a new date with the challenge and the love of the team, when they launched, on Monday, a fundraising campaign, to save the club from a major financial problem that threatened its participation in continental competitions next season.
The African vice president, Sami Balkadi, announced in statements to the club’s official page, on Sunday night, that the board of directors is required to pay a value of 6.5 million dinars (more than two million dollars), to settle old disputes with former players, before June 30.
On Monday morning, the African fans launched a campaign to collect funds, and many pictures of this donation process spread on social media pages in all parts of the country, and it is led by the club’s fan associations in most Tunisian governorates.
The African fans are seeking to collect the required sums before the end of this month, so that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) allows the team to participate in continental competitions, next season, coinciding with the difficult financial situation the club is going through.
This movement entered the traditions of the African Club fans, who are accustomed to helping the team and pumping large sums of money on many occasions, and helped the club avoid very harsh penalties from the International Federation, due to the inability of the Board of Directors to pay the dues of former players and coaches.
