Africa Specialty Risks Appoints Amit Khilosia as Director of Distribution to Spearhead Growth and Expansion

LONDON, October 11, 2024 -/African Media Agency (AMA)/- Africa Specialty Risks (ASR), a (re)insurance group operating on the African continent and the Middle East, is pleased to announce the appointment of Amit Khilosia as Director of Distribution.

With over 35 years of experience at Lloyd’s, Amit brings considerable expertise in (re)insurance market development and stakeholder engagement strategies in Africa. In his new role, he will lead ASR’s distribution efforts to continue to expand the company’s presence in Africa and the Middle East, delivering tailored risk solutions and strengthening client engagement.

Amit began his career at Lloyd’s in 1989, where he held various roles in finance, regulatory and market development. Among his notable achievements, he negotiated and expanded Lloyd’s market access strategies in Africa, and led the rollout of Lloyd’s South Africa Ltd as Managing Director. In 2013, he was appointed Lloyd’s Regional Director for Africa, and most recently served as Regional Director and President of Lloyd’s South Africa.


Amit will leverage his in-depth knowledge of the African context as well as his extensive network to help ASR strengthen its presence in Africa and the Middle East. Based in ASR’s UK office, he will work closely with the management team to drive ASR’s distribution strategy, further develop strategic partnerships, strengthen ASR’s market access and support growth plans. over the long term of the company in both regions.
