The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) imposed a five-year ban on Ehsanullah Jannat from playing all forms of cricket for match-fixing.
ACB said in a statement on Wednesday that batsman Ehsanullah violated the ICC’s anti-corruption code during the second season of the Kabul Premier League this year.
According to the statement, Ehsanullah was found guilty of violating Article 2.1.1 of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code, which includes improperly influencing or attempting to influence the outcome, progress, conduct or any other aspect of a match.
In light of this violation, he has been banned from all cricket-related activities for five years. Ehsanullah has admitted to involvement in corrupt activities.
Ehsanullah is the younger brother of Nowroz Mangal, the former captain of the Afghanistan cricket team.

ACB’s anti-corruption unit is also investigating three other players for alleged involvement in match-fixing.
“Decisions regarding their involvement will be taken after their guilt is confirmed,” the ACB said.
Ehsanullah scored 72 runs in four matches for Shamshad Eagles in KPL. The Eagles finished last in the six-team event with just one win from five matches.
26-year-old Ehsanullah has played three Tests and 16 ODIs. He also played a T20 international match against Zimbabwe in 2022 which was his last international match for Afghanistan.
