Although Android converts have a lower preference for the latest iPhone models, a significant number still choose them. Specifically, an analysis of the 2023 iPhone 14 and 15 Pro and Pro Max models found that 37% of Android converts chose these high-end versions, while 43% of existing iPhone users chose these models.

Economics and ecosystems are key

There are two main factors driving this trend. First, many converters were previously using cheaper Android devices, so switching to a similarly priced iPhone is a more comfortable financial decision. Second, access to Apple’s “ecosystem” and access to exclusive features like iMessage and FaceTime provide a perceived value that doesn’t require the latest and most expensive iPhone.
