Affected by severe flu-like symptoms, the leader of the Parti Québécois, Paul St-Pierre-Plamondon, had to cancel all his election campaign activities this Friday.
The day following the debate where his performance was hailed by all political analysts, the PQ leader had to suspend his campaign due to a high fever.
“I am forced to suspend my activities today due to flu symptoms. I have twice tested negative for COVID, but out of caution, I will isolate myself for the day,” he announced on Twitter, stressing that he hoped to be able to start campaigning once more as soon as possible.
Already yesterday evening, the PQ leader was to go to a militant rally at the Bistro Ste-Cath, following the debate. Exhausted, he finally decided to return immediately to the hotel. Throughout the night, the leader of the PQ was afflicted by symptoms.
He had just debated it for two hours, in the same room, with the four other party leaders. Before the debate, he shook several hands in a short walkregarding outside the house of Radio-Canada.
Today, the chief was expected at the 80th Annual Congress of the Quebec Federation of Municipalities (FQM) to speak to the members.
It will finally be Véronique Venne, candidate in Joliette, who will take her place to deliver a speech.
In addition to numerous interviews, the leader was to participate in the Global Strike for Climate Justice in the streets of Montreal. He was to take part in this demonstration with the contingent of the Parti Québécois, in the company, in particular, of Pierre Nantel.
In the short term, the leader had considered campaigning near the greater metropolitan area. He must participate in the show Everyone speaks regarding it this Sunday.
By the end of the electoral race, PSPP might move once more in Gaspésie and on the North Shore, if its health wants it well.
