AFD points out the challenge of maintaining investment grade and raising production standards

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The president of the Development Finance Agency (AFD), Stella Guillén, highlighted that maintaining the investment grade rating is a great challenge for Paraguay, emphasizing the need to encourage investments and raise the country’s production standards to generate a positive long-term effect on the national economy.

This was during his participation as a panelist in the Conversation organized by CPA Ferrere to discuss the challenges and opportunities of having achieved investment grade in Paraguay.

During the discussion, Guillén highlighted the importance of this distinction and its effect on the country’s attractiveness for investments, placing Paraguay on the radar of investors.

Guillén said that “having infrastructure, attracting investment and raising the country’s production standards will have a long-term effect,” stressing the importance of maintaining and strengthening this position in the international economic panorama.

The event, entitled “Paraguay, the investment grade milestone: how we got there, where we are and where we are going,” brought together prominent economists, financial sector figures, investors and special guests at the Paseo La Galería Events Center.

During the panel, the AFD president shared ideas with Liana Caballero, Director of the Central Bank of Paraguay, Per Olofsson, Chairman of Paracel, and Alfonso Capurro, Partner of CPA Ferrere, on the impact of this rating on Paraguay’s macro and micro economy and the challenges the country faces in this new scenario.

The discussion was an opportunity to analyze the challenges and opportunities that Paraguay faces after achieving investment grade, and to reflect on the steps to follow to consolidate and take advantage of this new stage in the country’s economic development.
