AFD has already financed 1,400 housing loans in the first half of the year

Asuncion, IP Agency.- From January to June of this year, more than 1,400 housing loans have already been approved, financed through the Development Finance Agency (AFD), for an amount of US$ 60.6 million. These figures will increase with the launch of the “Che Roga Porâ” program, which establishes lower financing rates.

The majority of those who benefited from AFD loans were through the “First Home” product, which until now was the most accessible for the middle class, with different rates for families earning up to four and seven minimum wages.

According to the AFD report, US$38.8 million in loans were awarded to 1,051 beneficiaries through the “Primera Vivienda” program.

Another product that helped finance families was “Mi Casa,” aimed at those with a higher income level, up to 20 minimum wages. Through this product, 385 housing loans were approved for an amount of US$ 21.8 million.

These two products are now being joined by the Che Róga Porã programme, launched by the Government, which is aimed especially at sectors of the middle class who have the greatest difficulties in accessing their first home.

The new program establishes a historic rate of 6.5% and a real estate development system in agreement between the private sector and the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing and Habitat (MUVH).

All the options can be seen at the Housing Expo-Fair

The middle class that wants to target these three housing solutions products will be able to find a whole range of offers at the next Housing Expo-Fair, which will take place on August 16, 17 and 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Fuente Shopping Events Center in Salemma (Ruta Mcal. Estigarribia, Km 9.5 – San Lorenzo), with free admission.

The aim is to facilitate access to their first home for families with average incomes who do not yet have their own home. At the exhibition, those interested will be able to learn regarding the available options of apartments, houses, duplexes or studios, located in urban areas in different parts of the country.

Likewise, the public will also find offers funded with private capital, which represent almost 50% of the active housing loan market.

As of April of this year, of the total active credit portfolio managed by banks for the sector, 53%, more than US$ 916 million, is with resources from the AFD, while the remaining 47%, more than US$ 431 million, is financed with own funds, according to data from the Association of Banks of Paraguay (Asoban).
