Today’s major event, Forbidden Door, will be opened by commentators Excalibur, Taz and NJPW commentator Kevin Kelly. In addition to Justin Roberts, the New Japan ring announcer Takuro Shibata also acts as announcer and both go regarding their jobs in their respective national languages.

Alex Marvez hosts an interview with Clark Connors, who will replace the injured Tomohiro Ishii tonight. Connors is grateful for the opportunity, wishes Ishii a speedy recovery, but at the same time wants to show all fans what it means when he says: Let’s Get Wild!

The victory celebration is immediately interrupted by Team Taz, Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks taking the floor and poking fun at Stickland and Lee calling themselves the “best tag team”. Especially if you haven’t defeated Starks and Hobbs yet. With these words the promo ends, which can indirectly be understood as a challenge.

After Caster and the Gunn Club get in the ring, Danhausen suddenly appears on the Titantron, greeting fans and the “Ass Boys” and talking regarding having a “surprise” for Billy Gunn’s sons. The “Ass Boys” song plays (‘composed’ by Danhausen, hence the surprise), and Austin and Colten rush backstage to locate Danhausen.

FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) (ROH) defeated United Empire (Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb) (IWGP) and Roppongi Vice (Trent Beretta & Rocky Romero) via pin from Dax Harwood following the Big Rig once morest Rocky Romero . –>Title change!!

– Dax Harwood appeared to have sustained a shoulder injury during the match and had to be taken backstage. Harwood, however, came back to the ring taped to loud cheers.

FTR are still ROH World Tag Team Champions and were crowned IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions for the first time!

Tony Schiavone welcomes Juice Robinson and Jay White to discuss today’s plans. Robinson remains unwilling to give up the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship, declaring that Ospreay vs. Cassidy is merely a #1 Contender’s Match. White, meanwhile, is confident and will take the win for Bullet Club.

PAC defeated Miro, Malakai Black, and Clark Connors via submission from Clark Connors in the Brutalizer. –> title win!!

– When Miro tried to force PAC to submit in game over, Malakai Black spat “Black Mist” in Miro’s face.

Tony Schiavone joins the commentary team for the next match. After Shingo Takagi and Darby Allin have gone to the ring, Sting’s music sounds, who is to be greeted happily by Tony Schiavone with “IT’S STIIIIIIING!”. However, the Stinger doesn’t show up, so the BULLET CLUB take the stage to face off once morest Darby Allin & Shingo Takagi. Suddenly, however, the hall lights go out for a few seconds before Sting stands on the entrance scaffolding and jumps onto the Young Bucks, El Phantasmo & Hikuleo!

Dudes With Attitudes (Sting, Darby Allin & Shingo Takagi) defeated BULLET CLUB (El Phantasmo & The Young Bucks: Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson, w/ Hikuleo) via pin following Takagi vs. Phantasmo’s Last of the Dragon.

A video announces another “Grand Slam Show” for September 21 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York this year. In addition, there will also be a live edition of “AEW Rampage” once more.

Tony Schiavone wants to exchange a few words with Shota Umino, but the Jericho Appreciation Society joins them. Jericho congratulates Umino on an outstanding performance, Angelo Parker and Matt Menard are equally impressed. Jericho even says Umino has earned his respect. Will Ospreay (c, w/Aussie Open) beat Orange Cassidy via pin following the stormbreaker.

After the match, Cassidy continued to be attacked by the Aussie Open, which consequently resulted in boos from the fans. Ospreay goes for another attack, but Roppongi Vice make the save, but are dealt with as well. Suddenly, soothing music plays, fans cheer loudly, it’s Katsuyori Shibata!! Shibata rushes to the ring, handles Aussie Open and stares down Will Ospreay. A brief exchange of blows, Ospreay flees and is eventually stopped by his companion to prevent worse. Shibata sits in the ring and is cheered on by the fans. Orange Cassidy returns to the ring, exchanges looks with Shibata and puts his glasses on him. Both pose and celebrate with Cassidy’s music.

Who is Zack Saber Jr.’s opponent and the newest member of the Blackpool Combat Club? Claudio Castagnoli!! Deafening cheers, Claudio enjoys the reaction on the entrance ramp and finally marches to the ring.

Claudio Castagnoli defeated Zack Saber Jr. via pin following the Ricola Bomb.

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
4-Way Match
Jay White (c) won once morest Kazuchika Okada, Adam Page & Adam Cole via pin on Cole, before White had knocked out Okada with a blade runner.
– Cole wasn’t knocked out directly with any move, which was probably because he injured himself in the match.

While Jay White celebrates his title defense, Adam Cole receives medical treatment. However, the commentators make it clear that Cole leaves the arena on his own two feet. According to initial reports, however, Cole’s injury is not a work injury. White leaves the ring while The Undisputed Elite, O’Reilly, Fish and the Young Bucks tend to a battered Cole. The Young Bucks also want to find out regarding Adam Page’s health, but O’Reilly stops them.

Jon Moxley defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi via a pin following the Death Rider. —>Title win!!

New AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley!!

Jon Moxley celebrates his (temporary) title win as Tanahashi and Moxley pull themselves together and pay their respects to one another. There was almost a handshake, but suddenly Daniel Garcia and Chris Jericho come out, attacking first Tanahashi and then Moxley. Eddie Kingston hobbles into the ring to make the save. Santana, Ortiz and Wheeler Yuta also appear, so that of course the rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society appears. A big brawl breaks out.

The music is played by Claudio Castagnoli, who, as the newest member of the Blackpool Combat Club, makes the final save and knocks out Jericho with a European uppercut. Also, Matt Menard has yet to endure the infamous “Swing”. As the Faces position themselves in the ring, outside the ring Eddie Kingston argues with Jon Moxley and yells at Claudio Castagnoli, who notoriously hate each other. Today’s big event ends with a staredown of both teams, who will compete next Wednesday at Dynamite in a “Blood and Guts Match”.
