The Full Face Lifting is an aesthetic procedure that aims to rejuvenate the face as a whole, through the combination of different techniques, resulting in facial harmonization. These techniques may include face lifting, rhinoplasty, facial filling with hyaluronic acid, among other procedures. The objective of the technique is to smooth wrinkles and expression lines, improve the appearance of the eyelids, nose and chin, redefine the facial contour, correct lost volume and improve the skin texture to produce a more youthful and rejuvenated result.
A survey carried out by the AAFPRS (American Academy Of Facial Plastic And Reconstructive Surgery, Inc.), published in February 2022, points out that facial plastic surgery has increased. According to the survey, 1.4 million surgical and non-surgical procedures were performed in 2021, a 40% increase compared to 2020.
According to The Aesthetic Society, surgical procedures increased by 54% in 2021, mainly on the face, nose, eyebrow and neck. Data from ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) show that Brazil was the world champion in plastic surgeries on the face in 2020. In addition, rhinoplasty is one of the most sought following procedures in the country and in the world.
The CEO of Instituto Rafael Ferreira and Ozone Academy, Dr. Rafael Ferreira, who is also a dental surgeon, explains that full face procedures aim at an approach where the methodology used responds to the entire treatment area.
“Our facial aging process does not happen in isolation, but with the mobilization of tissues throughout the face. Carrying out a targeted treatment for a single locality would be the same as not treating the problem completely, ”he said.
According to Ferreira, with age the points of support and firmness of the face become fragile and lose the strength to retain the tissue once morest the will of gravity. In this way, lifting procedures promote the recovery of this support force, raising the tissues that have suffered a fall and relocating them.
“The technique is a combination of procedures, with five keys to success, which would be the combined action of temporal support with threads, firming action with biostimulators, volumetric rescue with filling, electrothermal lifting technology and botulinum toxin to finish”, he highlights.
The dentist stresses that normal filling manages to rescue the lost volumes, it even has the capacity to reallocate tissues, but it cannot return the support force to the skin. “The full face technique, on the other hand, has the advantage of promoting the overall improvement of the face. In this way, no region is highlighted out of nowhere, which generates facial naturalness at the end of the treatment ”, he assures.
Still according to the CEO of Ozone Academy, the technique is indicated for those who already have facial aging points. The technique, however, can also be adapted for a preventive approach.
“The prevention and continuous care of the skin makes the clinician need milder and low-risk procedures to generate the results, making the approach safer and leaving the skin always in good condition”, he adds.
