Aesthetics is always associated with beauty, but it goes beyond the standards of appearances. Aesthetic medicine is a discipline that provides the patient with greater comfort with himself and helps to improve those areas that cause him discomfort, such as sequelae of aging or scars caused by some event or diseases such as alopecia, which for many generate self-esteem problems and They even limit their activities.
This is how the surgeon and aesthetic doctor Alejandro Echenique summarizes it, who came to the city of Valencia from the Dominican Republic to demolish myths and clarify that the patient will always be offered the most convenient health alternatives according to their physiognomy and requirements.
The benefits of aesthetic medicine go beyond the enhancement of appearance or seeking beauty. Thanks to its applications, it is possible to improve physical appearance and with this, professional, social and economic relationships are also benefited, which helps to improve self-esteem.
Echenique, a native of Guárico state, is a surgeon who graduated from the Rómulo Gallegos Experimental University, did his specialty at the Institute of Skin Aesthetics of the University of Carabobo and comes from belonging to the prestigious Luxury aesthetic center in the Dominican Republic, where he specialized in “perfect faces”
The doctor defines aesthetic medicine as the medical-surgical practice that applies the necessary techniques for the restoration, maintenance and promotion of aesthetics, health and well-being.
He explained that its objective is to prevent, improve or treat aesthetic problems, congenital or acquired, that generate states of discomfort in people.
aesthetic therapies
He clarified that various minimally invasive therapies are applied to patients, ranging from the platelet-rich plasma technique to hyaluronic acid. The first is taking a blood sample that is applied to the person and placed in the part to be restored. This therapy has no contraindications, except if you have some underlying condition.
For its part, hyaluronic acid is a substance that is found naturally in numerous tissues and organs of the human body: epidermis, connective tissue. In other words: it is a type of sugar (a polysaccharide of the glycosaminoglycan type), but depending on what the patient requires, this specialist is the one who determines the ideal.
In aesthetic medicine there are also other techniques such as botulinum toxin, hydrolipoclasy for the management of obesity, plasma pen through a pen-type device to restore very small areas or mesotherapy.
Alejandro Echenique warned that due to the increase in longevity, the number of people affected by aesthetic pathology increases, but the legal responsibility of the actions carried out, given the degree of technicality of aesthetic medicine, can only be assumed by a specialist with the training necessary to approach the treatment from a comprehensive medical-aesthetic point of view, attending both to the cure and to the improvement of the process.
recommendations
The doctor expressed that the idea is to go towards prevention. In other words, you do not have to wait to present any pathology to go to the specialist.
He recommended eating a balanced diet, exercising, staying hydrated and lowering stress levels, the latter triggering factors for some pathologies and signs of premature aging.
The specialist recommends taking care of yourself from an early age to avoid aesthetic pathologies. He pointed out that you have to avoid “puckering” to prevent the dreaded “crow’s feet”, which worries both women and men.
A good facial cleansing is also a preventive measure. For this, he recommended using hypoallergenic products and rose water to keep a face well hydrated.
