Regarding the International Transportation and Logistics Fair (FITL) concluded this week in the capital, it was reported that Aerovaradero and Cubamax Travel, based in the United States, agreed to ship perishable cargo from Florida to Havana.
According to information from official media, a new agreement between Aerovaradero SA and the Cubamax Travel agency of the United States will strengthen the transportation of cargo destined for Cuban families. This agreement, signed during FITL 2024, responds to the requests of the Cuban community residing in the United States who looking to ship perishable products to their relatives on the island.
Mayelin Gotera, general director of Aerovaradero, explained that this contract is part of the new services that the company offers to facilitate the arrival of this type of shipments, something that was not possible previously.
The alliance with Cubamax will not only increase income, but also improve recipient satisfaction, since the cargo will arrive in optimal conditions and in a short time to Cuban families, according to her.
Shipments from Florida to Havana, with Cubamax and Aerovaradero
According to the report, Aerovaradero will provide Cubamax with cold rooms in its facilities to store perishable products once the flights arrive to Cuba. The final distribution will be carried out by the non-state company Paloma.
Carlos Trujillo, president of Cubamax, mentioned that the negotiations for this agreement were carried out during FITL 2024. The transfer of the cargo will be carried out only by air from the state of Florida in the United States and the distribution in Cuba It will take between three and four days.
