“People are going to vote because they believe that this president and his party are going to solve the serious problems of always.†: Omar Serrano 2024-02-18 03:25:29

This Thursday in the Encuentro interview with Julio Villagrán, the vice-rector of Social Projection of the UCA, Omar Serrano, pointed out that in these elections people will not vote thinking that the country is going to a dictatorship, but rather they will vote With the hope that the president and his party will resolve the serious problems that others did not resolve for years.

Serrano highlighted that this Government stands out for not keeping its promises, or that it changes its mind according to what suits it at the moment, but it has the benefit that Nayib Bukele is charismatic and has managed to have a link with the population despite which is not close.

In this sense, he assured that it is necessary for there to be electoral integrity, which consists of paying attention to what happens before, on election day and following the elections, since he considered that what has happened in the country is that the conditions have been prepared to have the result that the polls say there will be on February 4.

“Since May 1, 2021, when the current legislature was inaugurated, where the magistrates of the Constitutional Chamber and the attorney general of the Republic were replaced, the conditions began to be prepared for what is going to happen. spend February 4th. After this, the resolution was given that allows there to be a re-election.â€Serrano said.

The vice chancellor considered that if the judges of the Constitutional Chamber had not been dismissed, the president would not have been able to be re-elected. In this context he highlighted that the results of the elections would have been different, because Nuevas Ideas and the Government without the figure of the president do not have much to offer.

On the other hand, he referred to the results of the surveys, pointing out that these are a snapshot of what people say at a given moment, and that sometimes the result does not change and it is not usual for it to do so in reality. , but there are cases like that of Guatemala, in which the current president Bernardo Arévalo, according to the polls, appeared in seventh place, and in the end what happened is that the people voted for him.

“It has happened that for youEmor people do not express what they will really do in a vote. We asked if people are more careful when giving their political opinion to another person, 63% said yes, that is, I am not afraid, but I am careful regarding what I say, that is, the regime is there.â€Serrano said.
