Romantic melodies and tango dance in an atmosphere of dreams and magic, accompanied by fine rosé wines of Aegialia, will be the main ingredients of the opening night of the “Oinoxenia 2024” Festival, which will be hosted at the “Giorgos Pappas” Outdoor Theater on Friday, August 23, at starting at 8.30 pm.
“The Tango of Nefelis” which “…stands out from all the vines”, marks this year’s “Bridges of Vineyards”, which is the motto of this year’s event. The city and the countryside are connected by a bridge of wine, just as tango connects Andalusia and Argentina with Loreena McKennitt’s Canada and Haroula Alexiou’s Greece.
The Athens Chamber Orchestra presents at this year’s “Wine Festival” a unique tribute to Greek tango and revives the musical atmosphere of old Athens, with the erotic melodies of the great interwar composers, while the stage is filled with dancers and steps.

Dance: Deppy Venezia and the dancers of Tango Amanti. He participates with a dance, the School of Tango expression-Aigio Tango Argentino.
At the same time, the taste test of the rosé wines of the slopes of Aegialia leads the pioneering race of local wines, as rosés emerge as a global trend.

This year’s “Oinoxenia” Festival is coming for 11or year to fill Aegialia and Kalavryta with sounds, tastes, aromas, gastronomy, wine, art and culture. A multitude of events will bridge the cities with the countryside, the mountain villages with the seaside zone of Aegialia, proving that culture, innovation, cooperation and creativity are not only a quality of the big cities. From August 21 to 31, the doors and windows of the Inns open wide, welcoming visitors and residents to a rich festive ten days.
The Wine Quality Network, the Municipality of Aegialia, the Region of Western Greece, Achaia Development SA, the Chamber of Achaia, the University of Patras, the Council of Europe ITER VITIS Wine Cultural Route, the Konstantakopoulos Foundation/Costa Navarino, as well as the Koutsochera Foundation, together with the Regional Union of Municipalities of Western Greece and the Municipality of Kalavryta join forces and support the great Festival of Achaia and the Northern Peloponnese. Important sponsors are the wineries of Aegialia as well as local companies. A major sponsor is Olympia Odos, which as the central artery of the Northern Peloponnese leads visitors safely through the densely populated and dynamic Aegialia.
