With two separate films “Great Days” and “The Last Pub”, the “Apollon” Municipal Cinema in Aigio continues its screening program.
-“The Last Pub” it is an unforgettable story of mental greatness and dignity. A typical example of a socially conscious cinema that is not indifferent to the big issues of its time and approaches the issue of the harmonious coexistence of different cultural groups in a crucial way.
– The movie “Wonderful Days” by acclaimed director Wim Wenders, premiered in the Competition Section of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, winning the Performance Award for lead actor Koji Yakusho. The film does not simply depict everyday life, but urges the viewer to discover the beauty in simplicity and to seek personal happiness in the small moments of life.

The Last Pub
“Old Oak” is a special place. It is the last pub, the only public space left in a former mining community that has been in decline for 30 years. Owner TJ Ballantyne (Dave Turner) struggles to keep it open and things take a turn for the worse when the pub becomes the subject of a row following the arrival of Syrian refugees. Meanwhile, an unexpected friendship blossoms between TJ and a young Syrian woman, Yara (Ebla Mari). Will they be able to find a way for the two communities to understand each other?
