Advisor to the OJK Senior Deputy Commissioner Receives Doctoral Degree from UNS – 2024-04-25 07:54:08

Advisor to the Senior Deputy Commissioner of the OJK HR Operations Directorate Anto Prabowo(OJK)

Advisor to the Senior Deputy Commissioner of the Human Resources Operations Directorate (HR) of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Anto Prabowo, received a Doctorate degree from the Doctor of Economics Program (PDIE) Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta. Anto successfully defended his dissertation entitled Bank Performance in Indonesia in the Era of Digitalization and Consumer Protection Using the Structural Equation Modeling Approach before a board of examiners chaired by acting UNS Chancellor Chatarina Muliana.

In front of Promoters and Examiners, Anto Prabowo said that consumer protection had strengthened since the 2008 crisis and digitalization in the banking sector had become a necessity. Both go hand in hand so it would be of interest for researchers to see the influence of both and their relationship with company size and the influence of these two variables on financial performance and digital performance.

“There is still very limited research to look at the influence between these variables. Digital banking services through digital ecosystems and consumer protection are 2 strategic issues for the banking industry in the last decade. “However, unfortunately studies that comprehensively discuss the relationship between consumer protection and ecosystems are still very limited,” explained Anto in a written statement.

For this reason, he was interested in making the case into a dissertation. He said the aim of the research was to examine the influence of bank size on consumer protection and the digital ecosystem as well as its impact on financial performance and digital performance in the banking industry in Indonesia.

“This research is expected to fill in the shadows both theoretically and empirically of the complex influence of the variables in the research so that the main question of this research is ‘Is there an influence between company size on protection and the digital orchestration ecosystem and the influence of both on financial performance and digital performance, including the relationship “two-way between the two performances is delivered,” he added.

This study examines the influence of bank size on consumer protection and the digital ecosystem as well as its impact on financial performance and digital performance in the case of commercial banks in Indonesia using the Structural Equations Modeling (SEM) method.

This empirical study using a quantitative approach obtains several important conclusions. First, bank size has a very strong and significant positive effect on consumer protection and the digital ecosystem. Second, consumer protection does not have a significant positive or negative influence on the digital ecosystem environment.

Third, consumer protection has a positive and significant effect on financial performance and digital performance. Fourth, the digital ecosystem ecosystem does not have a very strong and significant positive effect on financial performance, but the digital ecosystem ecosystem has a very strong and significant positive effect on digital performance.

Fifth, financial performance has a very small and insignificant positive effect on digital performance. Digital performance has a positive and relatively large effect on financial performance, but it is still not significant. The sixth conclusion, bank size has a statistically significant indirect positive influence on financial performance and digital performance through the mediating variables of consumer protection and digital ecosystem.
