Advertising regulations in Guinea: the CNRD wants to change the status of the OGP

The announcement was made this Thursday, April 13, 2023, by the Minister of Telecommunications and government spokesman, Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, after the Council of Ministers. The Guinean Publicity Office (OGP) will experience some changes in its status to become a Regulatory Authority. The authorities want to remove from the prerogatives of this Office all that is management.

“We discussed essential communications. The first communication was presented by me, on behalf of the Minister of Communication who is absent from the country, which relates to the draft bill on the regulation of in our country. In short, it is a question of changing the status of the OGP which will become a Regulatory Authority and extract in its prerogatives all that is management which will be deported elsewhere to be a partial arbiter like the ARPT and other Regulatory Authorities that exist in our country. And this, in accordance with the latest law which was voted in the National Assembly which frames the structures of the independent administrative authorities in our country”, indicated Ousmane Gaoual Diallo.
