The Plaine de Balzac adventure playground celebrated its two years of existence. On this occasion, Wednesday July 19 at 5 p.m., the prefect and many project partners such as the City of Saint-Brieuc, the Family Allowance Fund, Terres d’Armor Habitat or the Côtes-d’Armor Department, met there.
On arrival, the children are welcomed by a facilitator and learn the instructions.
The concept of the adventure playground comes from the countries of the North. It is intended for children, to enable them to reclaim public space. “The adventure playground is a play area to be built by the children and the three key words of this educational project are autonomy, experimentation and creativity”, explains Romain Sabardin, coordinator of the association Les petits débrouillards. “It’s a freely transformable space, with materials to be diverted, to which to give new meaning and freedom of action”, continues the coordinator.
“Children learn to do things, experiment with materials, practices and come face to face with the laws of nature”, explains Romain Sabardin, coordinator of the association Les petits débrouillards.
A team of three animators accompanies the children, who first learn how to use the tools and build their project: cabins, swings, spaceships, benches… At the end of the summer, the site is restored to its initial state, the cabins disappear and the kindling regains its tranquility.
