Following the new management contract concluded with the government, SNCB has in fact planned to eliminate the senior ticket which currently gives access to a round trip throughout Belgium for a single price of €7.8. This single ticket should be replaced by a 40% reduction on the price of the standard ticket and various advantages not yet defined, through the purchase of an advantages card, according to the exchanges which took place between the Gang and the SNCB in last August.
“For the elderly in particular, mobility constitutes an essential human right. To visit your children and grandchildren, meet your friends, maintain your intellectual curiosity, leave the house, alone or in a group, join various social activities, discover new places, in a word, live an active and happy retirement, La Mobility is an essential element for the physical and mental health of the Old and Old,” the Gang.

“We do not accept that SNCB limits their mobility to ensure its profits. We reject the policy of advantage cards and other commercial measures, to the detriment of those who travel less.”, he continues.
For around ten years, the collective has increased its militant actions in favor of seniors and better tax and social justice.
“We slept in an Ikea store, bought a McDonald’s cake with small change which we cut into 17 pieces, took action at the Apple Store to demand that Apple pay its taxes. We demonstrated several times in front of the finance tower for a more decent pension. We also buried social security, escorted by police. For us, it’s already done but we are fighting for future generations,” explains Jean-Jacques Claes, historic member of the Gang. “Our strength is being friendly. We laugh every time we organize an action and we take advantage of our sympathy to get our messages across,” he emphasizes.
