During its last Standing Commission, the Region voted to purchase cutting-edge equipment to the Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire (IHU) Everest in Lyon. The establishment, specializing in liver diseases, will benefit from a latest generation mass spectrometer unique in France.
With this acquisition (€1.7 million), the Region is intensifying its commitment to health innovation and the development of biomedical research.
The Everest Institute aims to meet the current and future challenges of hepatology and more particularly contribute to the cure of chronic liver diseases, by combining precision medicine and innovative therapies.
Responsible for 17,000 deaths per year in France (source WHO), chronic liver diseases represent a major health issue, whose work at the IHU aims to better understand, diagnose and apprehend the causes and symptoms, in particular, with early therapeutic interventions and new classifications of diseases for the personalization of treatments.
