Diehl Defense is presenting at IDEX 2023 the IRIS-T SLM system, which acts as a protection shield with its ability to protect the population and infrastructure of a large city once morest airborne threats. It is a ground air defense system, multifunctional radar and tactical operations center.

This system provides 360-degree protection for areas, in addition to high-value targets such as cities, power plants, offshore platforms, and other critical infrastructure, which cover very short to medium distances, and it repels hostile aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and guided weapons, including short ballistic missiles. range, and several targets can be engaged simultaneously.

The advanced system is also characterized by high mobility and the ability to deal with all terrains and in all weather conditions. The system is equipped with an “IRIS-T SL” (surface-to-air) guided missile, which was specially developed to be used as a (surface-to-air) missile in accordance with the requirements of the German army.

The system provides a medium-range protection radius of 40 km, long-range variants of the system with a radius of 80 km, along with defense once morest hypersonic threats, with a radius of 100 km currently under development.

Also on display at IDEX is the HPEM SkyWolf C-UA Responder, which are high-energy electromagnetic systems to counter unmanned aerial threats through short electromagnetic pulses. These systems are particularly suitable as defense platforms once morest unmanned aerial systems or drones over short distances, without causing The occurrence of any collateral damage, and therefore these systems together are considered excellent defense capabilities to protect public installations and utilities or ground infrastructure, such as facilities, transportation, industrial facilities, as well as energy facilities such as oil drilling platforms or refineries, and they can also be used to protect transportation routes or natural waterways.
