Advanced execution of the Valenzuela 500 kV substation that will strengthen the Paraguayan electrical system

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Construction of the 500 kV Valenzuela substation is 90 percent complete. “This project will strengthen the Paraguayan electrical system and create the conditions for the industrialization of the country through the use of clean and renewable energy,” according to ANDE.

The president of the National Electricity Administration (ANDE), Félix Sosa, reported through his social networks regarding the progress of the works, which are currently 90 percent complete.

He also stressed that “this strategic project will allow the strengthening of the Paraguayan electrical system and will create the conditions for the industrialization of our country through the use of our clean and renewable electrical energy.”

The 500 Kv Valenzuela substation is part of the National Electricity Administration’s Master Plan and will have a total capacity of 1,400 MVA.

The implementation would benefit some 770,000 customers in the Cordillera and Central departments, as well as Asunción, which covers almost 50 percent of users.

Sosa has repeatedly stressed that the projects being undertaken by this Government will have a major impact, primarily on the social and economic development of the population, since once in operation, they will enable the installation of industries that will generate more jobs.

The project is being carried out through the ANDE-Fonplata International Public Tender No. 1561/20, with a total investment of USD 79,000,000 financed by the Financial Fund for the Development of the Cuenca del Plata – Fonplata.
